Hurricane Helene Update No. 11
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 27, 2024) - Flooding in the Apollo Beach and Ruskin communities from Hurricane Helene has caused damage to wastewater pumping systems in south Hillsborough County.
Residents who live west of Interstate 75 and south of the Alafia River are asked to minimize wastewater-producing activities such as bathing and showering, washing clothes and dishes, and flushing.
Repairs will commence when floodwaters recede, most likely this afternoon into the evening. The County will announce when repairs have been made and the pump station is again operational.
