Hurricane Helene Update No. 9

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 26, 2024) - All Hillsborough County offices and facilities will be closed Friday, Sept. 27, for regular operations to allow staff to focus on the emergency response to Hurricane Helene.

The closure includes all County libraries, parks, preserves, and recreation centers. All County public meetings have also been postponed. The Water Resources Career Fair scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28, has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.

Trash, Recycling, Yard Waste pickup suspended Friday

Hillsborough County Solid Waste will suspend collection operations through Friday, Sept. 27. Residents should not place any trash, recycling, or yard waste out for collection until after the storm passes. Regular collection service is anticipated to resume on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Residents whose pickup was missed due to the storm will receive collection service on their next regularly scheduled day.
